Urban threads have a design that uses Madeira Burmilana thread. Has anyone come across this? The Madeira shop seems to be trade only and all my searches just keep taking me back to the Madeira website.

Burmilana is the same thread as 'lana' by Madeira. It is wool-like with a Matt finish and needs a 100/16 size needle. I've used it for machine embroidered animals but the designs are specially digitised for the thicker threads.

It's available from Barnyarns nr Ripon - barnyarns.com
'Jill' of many aspects of sewing, "Mistress" of few.

Yes, it's wool-acrylic blend.  They call it size 12 but in reality it's more like the thickness of size 8 cotton Perle.  Available from Barnyarns.
