I'm considering buying some of this
https://www.fabworks.co.uk/collections/avoca/products/sketchy-multi-floral.

Will be making a dress or top and skirt to look like a dress.....wondering if it would prove to be the devil to sew....please advise.  I'm not an amateur but not highly experienced either.

Mainly I will wear it with an ivory/cream dressy jacket and wanted a bit of colour and these colours are spot on for me.

Depends on how much of  a perfectionist you are!
If you're happy to accept some wonkiness as you learn how to deal with the stuff, no problem!  I made a chiffon shirt years ago when I was still learning a lot, and it was certainly wearable, but wouldn't have passed close inspection!
[mind you most of my sewing still wouldn't, I'm just good at faking it!]
there are loads of tips-
lay the fabric out on a sheet or other yardage to prevent slipping
use weights not pins
starch the fook out of it [or use hairspray, easier option]
keep pattern  tissue attached until ready to sew
use french seams
don't handle it more than needed until sewing
C'est moi!

Lovely fabric and I think it would be easy to work with, well-behaved with a nice drape.  Don’t forget pictures!

Thanks DF - grateful to you - have since been in Craftsy and they mention some of your tips as well.
Perhaps I will send for a sample first although it's not expensive.

Goodness, I quickly went right off this company when I discovered that the sample of fabric costs only £1.00 but the postage would be £4.99. I know they have to have someone cut the sample  place it in an envelope and organise, print or write my address but really we do know that that sample could be posted with a second class small stamp. A little to cover someone's time wouldn't have amounted to £4.99. Rant over, just move on to another company.

I don't bother with samples- except when I was shopping for wedding dress fabrics for me and the missus of course [they are still falling out of things, nearly ten years later!]  Waste of time.
C'est moi!

Just buy it and do it.... it shouldn’t be a problem.
