Hi Guys
I have come across this fie on a FB page I belong to and thought it might help someone waning to make bags as it is a list of fairly basic free bag patterns - enjoy x
Free bag patterns
Free patterns are great for testing a designer’s patterns and tutorial style before purchasing their patterns. They are also a great way to make bags on a budget. This list does not contain any affiliate links to me in any way, and it is of course not all that are available, just those I know of… please feel free to add any I have missed. Also most of the designers have helpful facebook group, some even have discount codes for purchased patterns.

Great list LL.  I'm in a FB group too, but not very active, so I appreciate this list.  Thank you!

I like making bags, but don't seem to get much chance as there is always something else to make!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

See www.gimmiefreebies.com/free-sewing-patterns-from-butterick-mccalls/ scroll down to accessoires for the free bag patterns. I made the retro tied bag and vintage evening bag years ago when getting the Butterick newsletter one got the free bags patterns with email.

See www.robertkaufman.com click on patterns then click free patterns then look up free bags. I hand sew the ruffle tote. Under free womens accessoires see chevron clutch bag, I made it with floral quilt cotton. There are also other free patterns and lots of free quilt patterns.

@Lizzielogs
This is awesome, thank you! As one for whom the social sites are banned in the household, I appreciate these names. I've only gone to the ones with direct links for now, but there's some beautiful designs which I have selected a few from. Plenty to start with, signed up for a couple that I really loved the design direction they're heading in and all going well(aka this dodo can work out the instructions) definitely plan to support financially in the not too distant future.  :thumbsup:
Sew it needs juice!
