That's gorgeous.  I had a parcel today but it wasn't a cushion cover  :(  If I'm your cushionee Lowena get yourself into gear!

Good to see it's arrived safely.  :)

I've enjoyed taking part in this, but I didn't expect to feel as nervous and anxious as I did.

I thought the card would be a dead giveaway.  0_0

I'm nearly there. Battling with corners today.  Hoping to get it finished this weekend as I will be temporarily rejoining the work of work on Monday.

It will be almost exactly 10 years since in left on maternity leave. I used to work with disabled adults and have just finished retraining for early years (reception and preschool). I've been volunteering at school and they've asked me if I'll cover some sick leave. Thrilled and scared at the same time.

I'll try to get mine in the post early next week...although I am deeply deeply disturbed by both the gorgeousness of the one I receved [yes there will be pics, give me  a break] and the gorgeousness of what everyone else is getting.
Aargh
The dark side will quickly belch me back out [thank gawd] when this is seen.  You guys inhabit a different world where soft furnishings are lavished with time and affection

They just don't matter that much to me...wah [not to say I'm not stroking my lovely new prize every time I pass it [it's ensconced on a chairback right now as it needs a luxurious new filling, not the mangled strangled lumps that pass for cushions hereabouts]]

HOW DO YOU ALL SEW SUCH PERFECT STRAIGHT LINES AND RIGHT ANGLES?

Aliens.  It's the only answer :S :S :S

Mostly, DF, they only look wonky to the person who stitched them.

Sandra - that is so pretty, and so beautifully made!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Oh crap on a cracker! Another triumph! I'm never playing with you people again.  :[
That's beautiful Sandra. Thanks a bunch!  :(
Today I discovered that when you learn quilting you also have to learn thread hiding!  :x Really? Who even knew that was a thing?!?!?!

Thankyou @wrenkins you really made me laugh there.  I think I might use that one some time.
Your cushion cover will, I'm sure, be welcomed by whoever receives it knowing that it has been made especially with them in mind.  We all have to start somewhere so well done for not being afraid of having a go.  You are most likely being super critical of your own work, seeing the bits that someone else won't notice.

I've made a decision- I think the only way out of this is to send this lovely cushion cover to the next person up the line, in place of my abortion
This game is NOT for the likes of me!

Oh ladies. No. Don't lose your nerve. @wrenkins and @DementedFairy

If you could see the one Fran's now got you'd see wobbly bits and other bits which could have been done more neatly. I'm absolutely NOT an expert quilter...far from it... I simply enjoy playing around and trying stuff.  I'm just really happy to have joined in with this swap with all you strangers  :) I think it's great.

Of course I'm waiting by the mail box, micrometer, set square and straight edge at the ready and woe beside any seam or angle that doesn't pass muster  :)

Come on girls, you all make fabulous stuff even if you don't specialise in cushion covers (I think I've only ever made one before).  Nothing you produce is going to be in car crash territory.  My cushions get sat on, squished and mangled and a bit of wobble or wonk is just not going to  notice.

and lastly (but certainly not leastly)

@Lowena ... the deadline is for it to be posted to your giftee by the end of the month

Thanks all for the encouragement and positivity everyone (however misplaced  :[) and thanks Imi for the tutes. I looked at and watched in amazement at the simplicity of hiding threads and yes, yes, yes I didn't do any of those things.  0_0 I have managed to hide 'em but give myself ten times as much work as I should have had.
DF don't you dare leave me to be the only numpty. Just don't dare!!!!! ....Not implying, in any way that you're a numpty of course.... I'll stop digging now and go and hide some more feckin' threads. I only sewed about three lines!!! How come I have a million?  :'(  :'(  :'(
