Hello from Essex!
« on: March 25, 2018, 11:19:16 AM »
Hi all, Just wanted to say Hello. I'm Spencer. I worked for 23 years in an oil refinery but had to leave do to ill health. I live in Essex with my wife and children.

I have been looking for a past time to relax me and someone suggested Cross Stitch and I did order a kit but while I was waiting for it to arrive I tried embroidery and I have to say I actually enjoy it more to be honest. I am looking forward to learning from and being inspired by you all and maybe one day knowing enough to help someone else.

Very best wishes, Spencer

Welcome Spencer.  Stick around here and you'll soon find yourself doing a lot more than cross stitch and embroidery  :)
Life's too short for ironing.

Hello Spencer and it's good to have you on board.  Can't help with cross stitching or embroidery because I only sew clothes, but I am sure there is a wealth of experience here and help will be on hand.  I like your funny avatar.

Welcome from another newbie  :) .  Are you doing embroidery by hand or on a sewing machine?

Hello and welcome. I did a lot of cross stitch in the 1990's but ran out of wall space  ><, I now do patchwork and quilting so who knows we may see you on the dark side ;)

Welcome Spencer. Nice to meet you and hear that you're enjoying your stitching too.

There's so much online these days, although you soon find yourself reading/watching it rather than doing it!  :[
Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.

Hi Spencer
Welcome! I love a bit of sewing and sewing machine repair. I’m currently getting back into costume making I just need my day job to stop interfering with my evenings...
