Sorry I missed this Lolli but you've got good advice already. Another good reason for keeping your offcuts (as though we needed one).  :|
Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.

Absolutely! I keep all my offcuts, I've got a drawer full of different fabric bits because you never know. I often grab one for testing my stitches on, also useful for straps so I've discovered  :D

Does anyone have any tips on sewing elastic onto lycra which is in a curve, so that it stays a curve shape?
I'm getting there with this leotard, it's very nearly as it should be but I'm struggling to keep the love heart shape once I've added elastic. The curve is tending to straighten out a little. I have to stretch the elastic slightly when sewing it on and while doing that I'm having trouble turning the lycra to keep the shape.
To get round that, should I keep lifting the foot with the needle down every few stitches to keep turning?
Not sure if any of that makes sense  :S
