Visited the rice terraces but I'm afraid I got sidetracked by all this lusciousness . OH was busy taking pix of the the rice - basically it is green and wet. I on the other hand found these - batiks, crochet- totally random  and backed but not wadded - to be fair hardly necessary in that heat.

There's a mix of both - crochet and stitched. Yes I think they are called Afghans the crochet ones!

First pic looks to be sewn patchwork, second pic is 'granny square' and granny hexagon type of crochet with a blue and white sewn quilt peeping in on the left and the third pic shows three finer white quilts.  It would need to be a really close up pic to determine whether they are knitted, crocheted or machine lmade lace with edgings stitched on.

Did you buy anything! 0_0

Absolutely beautiful. Were they for sale or was it a communal washing line?

Lots of lovely color.  Some of the crochet almost looks like it might be done with thin strips of fabric.  Are they made of wool?

@Iminei , yes, afghan. That can be either knit or crochet, usually crochet. Sometimes called a throw, especially if smaller than bed size. The white lacy ones look likely to be table cloth weight, possibly knit and as mentioned could be machine knit. I'm not good at telling. The lace ones are lovely placed on a solid color sheet on the bed.

I like flat quilts like that for our Summer heat here.

Sounds like a terrific trip @Catllar .
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

They were all for sale. I didn't even ask the price else I'd have had to offer homes to some of them. Still I'm going back next year with a large empty case!

The plain colour  crochet was cotton, but the multi was wool. The rainbow stitched quilts are all in batiks and there are pinwheels and all sorts of lovely stuff.
