I do nest seams when I'm sewing and it usually works nine time out of ten on straight seams. However, a diagonal seam (as with a HST) comes along like a bully and always seems to push my nicely nested seams slightly out of alignment.

Four of those blocks plus a border (flying geese maybe?) all around would make a lovely 2 colour quilt to suit the Project Linus.

Thanks for the suggestion
@BrendaP
but as the Project Linus quilt is supposed to be anonymous, I couldn't possibly comment any further

I'm back up to date!
I used the same patterned fabric as for January, which I realised is like 4 cats' faces, and whether they're cats or not, the two blocks go very well together!

@Acorn
I've just gone back to look at your January block and there indeed could be four cats in it
For April's block, I tend to see bats rather than cats when I see the photos (where are the bat emojis when you need them?).
I will be starting January's block tonight as the final part of my catch up (once I have worked out how to resize it to give 12" finished) and I wonder what layout I'll pick.

Oh yes - bats! As cats are in my black books at the moment I'll embrace that totally!

Have finally got around to uploading the picture.
I played around with the idea of eyes but didn't find any I was happy with, so left it as it is.
A lovely easy block.
Thanks Iminei.
Sandra.
