Thanks for the info Jesster.
So It wouldn't work for unpicking stretch stitching?
I see you're based in USA so presumably this wasn't an expensive trialling of the tool.
I'm wondering if it's possible to get it from a UK supplier as postage from USA can be expensive.

Not very expensive at this side of the pond.  I wouldn't use this with stretch stitching on knits - too much risk of cutting fabric, especially if the stitching is tight.  On a stretch woven, it might possibly work.  The firmer/stiffer the fabric, the better it works.  Anything soft/drapey is riskier.  It was a quick job removing the hem stitching on woven slacks that needed shortening, for example, but not wonderful enough that I couldn't live without it.   ;)

I got a new one today, from the three counties show, from a man who turns his own.

:o This made me jump, Fajita, but that's okay...

a) I don't quilt (although I still love the fabric on rolls, the habby and notions)

b) it's not my three counties (Beds, Herts & Bucks)

c) I'm not concerned that I missed it because of a & b.  :D
Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.
