? Standard size quilting rulers

Hi,
I'm new to quilting and am doing some research before I go "shopping".
I did buy a SewEasy Patchwork ruler in Hobbycraft 16 x 60 cms (half price £10).
I've seen a Fiskars Folding ruler 15 x 61 cms.
The size differences are only 1 x 1 cm and I wondered if the Fiskars ruler was designed for Quilting specifically?

Most quilting rulers are marked in inches as most quilt patterns are in inches. The one centimetre difference could be a rounding effect when converting the inches to centimetres.

However, there do tend to be some quilting rulers that differ in size by half an inch , so you might find both 6x12" and 6½ x 12½" rulers, for example. Half an inch rounds down to 1cm so this might also account for the difference.

As I  wrote to you earlier Anniegg ..... Omnigrid and Omnigrip are the best (imo) rulers ...

Dont fu faff around with cm rulers ... inches Girl, inches are what you need!!!!

6 x 24 inches
12 1/2 inches square these are the essentials

and then as you can afford

6 1/2 inches square for most small blocks
12 x 6 inches, I find excellent as  I find the 6 x 24 knocks stuff off the table
