very nice, but do they not know about it being bad luck for the groom to see the dress before the day?

He seemed eminently qualified, so well done him.  @Greybird: I have watched a few of those American wedding shows and the groom often sees the bride in the dress before the wedding.

it being bad luck for the groom to see the dress before the day?

This belief doesn't exist in my country. So, is it scary or something? What's the rationale being this? After all, aren't women supposed to be at their most beautiful on their wedding day?

@lakaribane: from the first UK site I searched:

Quote
It is considered bad luck for the Groom to see the Bride in her Wedding gown before she walks down the aisle. Doing so will result in an unhappy or tragic end to the Marriage.

I think it's so that by the time he lifts her veil, it's too late for him to see her ugly sister has substituted...

Creative chap, I must admit it made me think of a scaled down version of those big fat gypsy wedding dresses.

He did a good job but I think the dress is hideous  - all bouncy and the hi-lo hem - not my taste at all.
