Have you looked at these patterns for the wedding @Bodgeitandscarper ?

Not sure if you already have started making something yet?

https://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v9254 (long sleeved version not the sleeveless one)

I thought either of these dresses would look good with a pair of dressy type trainers?

I like the Marcie Tilton one...

Jessie
Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

Thank you, @Lizzy777, I like the second one, but if I make one, it will be my favourite Vogue, err, can't remember the number!

I have bought some fabric, I think I like it, but it may be too soft and drapey, we'll see.  I just need to find fabric for a jacket in one of the plain colours now - and a pattern, I fancy something a bit wild and whacky, or at least a bit unusual!

Lovely material, it should be easy to get a toning plain for the jacket.  The pattern says stable knits, cotton and silk, which sounds as if drapey is fine.
Yarn down:  1000g

Ooh that’s classy @Bodgeitandscarper. Should look lovely.

What colour trainers would you go for?

Yes. lovely fabric - and any of the colours in it would be nice for a jacket.
Brenda.  My machines are: Corona, a 1953 Singer 201K-3, Caroline, a 1940 Singer 201K-3, Thirza, 1949 Singer 221K, Azilia, 1957 Singer 201K-MK2 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.

I just love that pattern... I made it up and I looked like a bag lady... I’ve never been so disappointed... I really wanted that dress.

I have now ordered fabric samples for a jacket - the cobolt blue here looks just the thing!  It's a tad pricey though!

That will be lovely made up. Silk is always worth the money. I haven't seen dupion anywhere for less than about £19 pm so it's not bad.

Still toying with the silk dupion for Butterick 6383 - I thought to make it without a collar so the dress collar sticks out of it.  The pale lilac sample goes well with the dress fabric, the two blues were wrong.
Oh, and I have these grey/silver sandals, hooray  0_0
... and a bag to (hopefully) match on it's way.
