Life is too short for this

Whilst browsing the promotions section of my emails (I am bored) I found a link to a free pattern for  a Cotton + Linen Bath Wrap.

Sounds nice thought I, so I clicked on it.

FFS, its a towel.  Who on this earth knits towels?

Sorry, should this have been on the Rant Thread?

Yes I saw that too and had a silent guffaw about it.

Strikes me there are a lot of cool young people out there who don’t remember having to knit a dishcloth in primary school. If they did they’d treat this, and the accompanying instructions for knitting your own tea towels, with the disdain it deserves. Even if they are in organic hemp yarn, hand spun by an off duty tech startup entrepreneur on a wheel they built themselves ...

What are they smoking over there? :o  Knit your own towel, indeed.

A $171 for a towel 36 inches wide by 52 inches long? :S  Someone is well down the rabbit hole.

I saw a tutorial recently for crocheted cotton wool pads which I thought was quite a good idea for using up left over yarn.

However, I think this would be a step too far when it comes to sustainability.

A large majority of the American knitting community do.  No offence meant to our American members but I can't see the logic in it. Something that big and heavy would surely drop like crazy!

Sustainability can become a burden.  Imagine also being a vegan too.

I'm from the States and yes I agree that this is a bit strange. I guess we spend out time and money the way we want to :-)
