Recommendation of book for beginner quilter/patchworker
« on: June 21, 2018, 10:56:30 AM »
I'm dipping my very tentative toe into The Dark Side.
Does anyone know of an instruction book to help me get started?
(I know there's a ton of publications available on this subject so I'm overwhelmed by the choices, hence I'm seeking more specific recommendation(s).)
Thanks in advance for the benefit of TSP knowledge. :D

The Quilter's Bible by Linda Clements is an excellent book, by far the best I have come across and should be the only one you'd need  <3

When i was first infected with this very tenacious bug  :D, I bought "The encyclopaedia of Quilting and Patchwork Techniques" by Katherine Guerrier. There are no patterns included but there is an inspiring gallery of work and the instructions are in great detail with step by step photos.
It's doubtless available in a more recent edition on A*****n  :D
'Jill' of many aspects of sewing, "Mistress" of few.

Another very good one is The Quilters Ultimate Visual Guide

Cheaper than QB! and it goes into a few hand techniques as well.
