Ended up agreeing to buy the Bernina 009 dc for £399 including new carry case.  Comes with 2 years parts and labour guarantee.
I'll try and sell the New Home overlocker for about £50 on TSP (if that's not too expensive) to recoup some of the cost.
Will give feedback on how it goes....

Ooooh!  Exciting!  New Machine happy dance!!

Wish I'd known you would be selling your OL.  I needed a spare a few months ago, and bought a Singer in Lidl.  ><  It's OK, and does the job.  Never mind, I don't even dare suggest another machine....  :S

I'm sure someone will snap it up!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

I have the Janome 2000 and I have had no problems with it at all. Lovely machine.
