@Kenora it's actually a Norse Dragon, my metaphors are mixed because the knots are Celtic.  I just liked it.
@Sheilago it is most likely to be a cupboard dweller but may end up on a wall but not before I've sorted out the binding join which will only annoy me.

Thank you Ploshkin - he's very nice, and he's given me an idea. I have a friend who is very proud of her Welsh heritage. If I could find a Welsh dragon design on the internet (which I'm sure I could) it would look lovely as the applique'd centre of a cushion. <3

If you want a challenge!

When they had a shop not far from us (well 35 miles away) they had one made up, and it was really beautiful.
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Oh wow, thank you @Acorn - I'm going to have a good browse at all those later. Definitely the type of thing I had in mind. :) (Need to get on with my parrots this afternoon as I'm flagging now.  :S )

Here are cushions I made from Harris tweed for a Scottish/Welsh wedding. Not sure it’s really a traditional Welsh dragon, but it was a nice simple design to appliqué.

He's lovely, and so is the Scotty dog.  I'd definitely say he was a Welsh dragon.   :D

Well they brought a smile to my face @Sheilago. Gorgeous!
Loving your work everybody. I wouldn't know where to start!

You just make it up as you go along. That's what I've done.  0_0

Ooooh, @Acorn , my mum is Welsh.  Guess what she's getting for Christmas.  Not necessarily this Christmas.

I'm done....don't think I can be bothered do any more ( for the time being). I'm going to leave it like this for now.

I knew early on that I'd chosen something which was going to be tricky to get right, but I'm happy with this. Even my daughter said she thought it was, 'actually, quite good'  :o
She declined the idea of a quilt though.  0_0

Her face/hair has more detail than you can see from the picture...it's just too subtle to show up. I couldn't seem to find some thread I was happy with and was worried about going too dark in case she looked grubby-faced instead. -< Also, I was worried about messing about with it too much and completely ruining it.

'Gertie in the Garden in Her Red Spotted Dress'.

It has no backing on it yet. It's just got the frame for the time being until I find some backing fabric.

@Sandra you've done an amazing job with that. You've really brought it to life.  Well done, I'm in awe.
