Not familiar with them, but I thought maybe Barry & Edna (Barry Humphries' alter ego). :[

Definitely Barry and Frieda .... and the rainforest is their home.

You should have no problem with it being too thick if you are using craft or dress weight fabric ...

Remember you dont have to layer the complete hanging ...  for instance...  If the sky disappears under foliage it doesnt have to be the full length and breadth of the hanging .. if you see what I mean ... If it does feel like its getting thick, stitch slowly.

Did you want some greens coming your way?

Thanks for the tip @Iminei - I've never done this before so it's all a big learning curve for me.  :\ Barry has emerged in his new colours but I think I need to change his beak because it doesn't show up against the background.  :S

If you have a couple of odd scraps you could spare, Iminei, then I would be very grateful, but please don't go to any trouble. I would send you the postage, of course. You can see from the photo that it looks a bit "samey" but the fabric isn't stuck down yet. And I still have to put in the bottom of the picture which I've cut off above.

Lots to do yet. :)

I’ve added a red and green tartan back and finished my hare in Autumn cushion: it’s now in use. I’m off  to make my donation to the  charity.
@Sheilago your cushion is beautiful!  If I saw that in a shop, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.  <3

Well, I watched the postie pause outside our drive yesterday - and I held my breath - but he carried on walking past with his trolley. :'( Then today - lo and behold - he popped a small packet of green wonderment through my letterbox. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you @Iminei - the little pieces of green (nearly 50 shades  ;)) will change Barry's world and keep me fully occupied this afternoon. I am pm'ing you.

I said on the 'Today' thread that I was in the mood to have another look at my applique, and here's where I've got to.  :)

Feeling quite pleased with myself. It looks like what it's supposed to look like. Not too bad for my first attempt. Need to bring it to life now with stitching to define certain areas.

Sandra.

Gosh, Sandra, that's coming on a treat.
Life's too short for ironing.
