I had a lot of problems with my first post because I couldn't work out to make a shortform url, so off I went to look it up and found this tute.

I don't even know what a shortform is!!!! :o

I read the title from reception and thought someone had posted in the wrong area with questions about a homemade dress-form for the vertically challenged !!!!

I've discovered an even better way than my original post.  If you want to turn a weblink such as https://www.sewessential.co.uk/sewing-patterns into a weblink, simply highlight the link and copy, click on the world symbol next to the little picture, delete the what's already in the box and paste the link you previously highlighted and okay.  Your long link will become Sew essentials.

This was a feature added a few months ago. Sorry we didn't announce, but that is why it's different than when the first post was made :) I knew some people were struggling with the manual way.

My short links take me to a virgin media search engine for whatever name I've changed it to  :S
Obviously doing something wrong here, even with simple instructions.

I do hope this is something I will be able to do without - it's gone way over my head I'm afraid!

Nope, followed the video (thanks @Francesca) but didn't work. Maybe it doesn't work on a smartphone?

Or I'm just stupid  0_0

In that case just type out as follows. Put the URL in the place where I've put www.bbc.co.uk and your text in "Link to the BBC".

Code: [Select]
