  Kilts don't get a second look around here (and throughout Scotland). They're still a novelty in England

I can't remember the last time I saw a kilt being worn (by a man) around here.  It just doesn't happen except for the occasional wedding.  But in Scotland, especially in the Highlands, it's everyday wear for some.

There are kilt wearers at our club too. When you meet them in 'ordinary' garb, the greeting is ' Hullo. I nearly didn't recognise you with your trousers on!'  ;)
