... and breathe!   :drink:  :cake:  ;)

Someone is definitely looking out for you!
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

Oh my goodness SewEasy, someone up there was looking after you!

I hope the next dress goes without incident, and you have time to shop for something lovely for yourself!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

I am sure it will all be fine, and the lucky little bridesmaids will be so in love with their beautiful dresses, who will care that the lining does or doesn't match exactly!  I hope you are feeling a bit more confident now, as you will make as wonderful a dress for the other bridesmaid!  As for your outfit, something even better will come up, believe in fate - it was meant to be!!!  :D

I can so sympathise @Seweasy . My saga with my outfit and my grand-daughters for my stepson's wedding (in August)  is in another post. After planning since January, I still ended up having to wear the first outfit I made which I was very unhappy with. I was unhappy with it on the day and felt very self-conscious. However! Today we received an email with a slideshow of all the wedding photos and guess what! I think I didn't look too bad in it. It was a bit different from other outfits there and I can look back on the day with more pleasure.

Never mind about the dress you missed - something else might look so much nicer!

Thank you for the reassurance ladies.. ..so far it's going well and the heart on dress number two, now does look like a heart ...Phew  ! ! !....just need to sew up the side seams on the bodice and it's done, for now at least anyway, until the skirt is made.......and yes maybe fate has had a hand in the dress @Yellowfeather  and something better will turn up.... :)

@Greybird : I'm always very self conscious whatever I wear too,.... :D the downside to having a big chest in my case... 0_0 and I'm sure you looked lovely on the photos regardless, but it's nice to see them and like yourself on them too.

Well, the wedding took place on Saturday and it really was a lovely day. The girls dresses were completed in time (just) and looked beautiful...(guests words not mine.. :| :|)....most guests didn't know I'd made the dresses, however they were soon informed, when my son did his speech and included a piece 'thanking me for making them' facing directly at me when doing so....(sadly there was no time for me to hide under the table, or I may have done so, :)...)....But there were a few gasps and wows, from people that were unaware and I do have another order for dresses from one of the guests....but definitely no 'heart shaped cutouts' are necessary... :loveit:....I've no photos as yet to show, as I left my bag with my phone in the hotel room...so I have to await the photographers pics, before I can show you all...sorry folks... :(

Oh and the day I finished the dresses, hubby took me shopping and the first dress I tried on...was the one I bought...had to alter it to fit, (as is normal for me)....but yes, @Yellowfeather and @Greybird  , it was much nicer than the first dress I missed out on too.... :loveit:

Those look just beautiful. Love the heart cutout. We have my daughter’s wedding next year, but don’t think I could attempt anything like that… and having read of your panics, perhaps that’s a wise decision. I’m sure it was all worth it on the day and the little girls must have looked wonderful  <3

Well done, @Seweasy they are beautiful and the girls' faces show that they feel really special in them.
Life's too short for ironing.
