Did you ever get to try the new bobbin case for it, that allows for 15x1 needles? I don't know how easy they are to find, but I think both types for these models exist now.

Where is half-way? How far out across Norfolk are you? Seriously  :)

I've PM-ed you with a suggestion.

No, this one still has the original bobbin, I didn't want to modify this, and haven't used it enough to justify seeking another bobbin  :)

First photographs concern the case options:

The machine came in the large yellow Singer case, with a tool box lid that matches the machine. When the machine goes up on the well-known auction site it will go back in that case.

But if you check out the photographs you'll see I chose to use it in a Novum case; although smaller it has a stability bar that folds out from the back of the case. and I was more comfortable with the bobbin changing because of this.

Buy the machine here and you're welcome to chose either case  :)

Here are shots of the machine - seemed a good time whilst it's out of it's case.

And lastly a round-up of the accessories. This includes the full set of pattern cams, both other plates, bobbin case and 6 bobbins, needles from Helen Howes, and an A4 printout of the instruction book -  all 109 pages of it!.

Any questions do please ask  :)
Thanks

I wish I could, but I’m going to have to be (boring) sensible.... I have to make some space in my room corner and part with a couple of machines before I take on any more. :(

Has it got a foot pedal? What’s better the 306  or the 319?

Yes it does have a foot pedal - I just forgot to get it out and photograph it! I can do that later if you'd like  )

The 319 will sew many more pattern variations than than a 306. I don't know what other differences it might have apart from that, as I've never owned a 306. Shout out on the vintage thread and someone might have some more ideas?

They’re both exceptional machines, the 319 is a model up and has the piano keys which provide masses of stitches by combination and also takes cams, the 306 just takes cams. Some people say the 306 is a slightly stronger stitcher and easier to maintain because it doesn’t have all the cams built in, but there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on that. Others love all the beautiful patterns and not inconsiderable strength of the 319.

I haven’t owned either but I’m a bit of a fanboy, and did a fair bit of reading on them.

From the 401 and 500 which have similar built in cams the number of stitches is amazing especially if you go off piste but that’s not to say they’re all useful.
