It's a 15K from 1907 - so a respray - not sure why you would  :(

I think they may have meant treadle rather than treacle - maybe it was a Freudian slip though, given the colour!

The say that Singers came in all colors, but they were all black. It was true for a long time, many of the guildings and decals were colorfull; roses, flowers, colorfull swirly patterns like the Tiffany version.

I think the first signs of other colors came in the 50s, beige, two tones, green, and there are some industrial paints with a some sort of shimmering or marble like effect, greyish blue or greenish blue.

I don't mind the ochre yellow too much though, someone wanted a lighter color, it's less demanding when it comes to lighting. I prefer the origial black jappaning when possible, but on some machines there's hardly any left. It looks a bit dirty, it needs a clean ;- )
