I'm think of making a lightweight Spring jacket, probably using Butterick 6292 View A
https://www.sewessential.co.uk/misses-coat-butterick-pattern-6292

I need to buy online but I don't know what fabric to look for. I can't wear wool next to my skin, so anything with wool in it wouldn't work for me with the high collar.

It needs to be something with some weight/body - maybe a heavy ponte roma would be the right weight but would probably be too stretchy. I've ordered a sample from Fabworks, but it might be too soft and stretchy https://www.fabworks.co.uk/products/duck-egg-faux-wooly-check

Any other ideas?

What about drill/twill or a heavy linen or linen mix?

I do like that pattern.  It reminds me of a favourite jacket, now sadly a little threadbare through constant use.

Croft Mill have some non-wool jacket or coat fabrics  https://www.croftmill.co.uk/products/fabrics-by-use/coating-fabric-products.html

Otherwise, could you get away with using wool for the main fabric with something else for the facings?

How about cotton moleskin?  It would be great for a spring jacket.  https://www.croftmill.co.uk/products/fabrics-by-use/coating-fabric/camel-cotton-moleskin-fabric-product.html  I'm sure you'll find other colours elsewhere.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies!  :flower: <3

I'm going to park this project for a while. I think this is one where I need to see the fabric before I buy it, otherwise I'll end with a draw full of fabric, and then what would I do.....  ;)

I think it's going to be an autumn jacket now!
