Squaring up wool fabric ?
« on: November 12, 2018, 10:13:29 AM »
I was about to wrap my wool fabric in a damp sheet when I remembered to check the edges. I smoothly tore the ends to find a reliable cross grain and found out that I have more of a parallelogram than a real rectangle. I'm planning to block it using the tiles on the floor as a guide but I really don't know how to ?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Sometimes when you tear across the fabric it gets pulled out of square. Have you tried simply pulling the opposite corners to counteract this? Wherever possible I prefer to pull threads and cut to get a straight grain.

Aha ! I haven't though of that ! I'm going to try it. I have only a bit more than 2m so it's perfectly doable. Thank you. (The weave is too stiff to allow for pulled threads, I've tried before tearing).
