But I'm now at an impasses for layout ...

This is the source inspiration,

Where Lynn Goldsworthy uses opposite colours next to each other ... but Im now stumped as to what to do and what size and layout to make.

Lynn had a total of 50 colours using the light and dark grey ...
I
have 50 with the dark grey and 50 with the light grey background, so double the bubble!

It looks as though you have sorted your blocks into the same orders for both the silver and the dark grey.  In the inspiration pic the colours are a bit more random.  Shuffle them about a bit.

Ooooooo I love her straight line quilting...and your colours too Im. I'd tend to go with how you have them laid out rather than her random-ish layout but that's just my OCD kicking in I suspect....sigh.....Did I mention I loved the close straight line quilting?, yeah, guess I did :)

Yeah I like the colour gradating thing too and the two sets should join up somewhere,
I just dont have the surface space in which to lay them out.

Each Oblong measures  8 1/2" x 4 1/2"  and I have 100 of them ....   sooooo (Brendaaaaaa) How could I lay them out????

So Ive been busy today joining in rows of 10, tho' I think thats going to make too long and thin a quilt ... but here we go ... 6 rows sewn ...

I've sewn 2 more rows, (blues and purple pinks), with (I think ) another 2 (blues to turquoise greens) to go, but now Ive run out of space to pin them, apart from upon each other ...

Any ideas of a better layout than 10 rows of 10 ... 40" x 80" (I think)

In the first pic in Imi's first post, they colours looks more beige and brown, but in the second pic they seem to be "different shades of grey"  :P

I like the graduated colours better than random ones, but I am a mathematical person, I prefer order to  chaos  ;)

9 rows of 11 = 99 blocks.  36" x 88" or 72" x 44"
8 rows of 12 = 96 blocks.  32" x 96" or 64" x 46"

One of the green blocks - 2nd from left bottom row - looks too dark on my monitor. Also a couple of the reda are very dark.

If you go for one of the above suggested layouts you could use the rogue dark blocks on the back.
