Has anyone done felting using a front loading washing machine?
How do you control the procedure?
I have the wool and a hat pattern but have not started it yet, as I am in the middle of trying to finish my winter coat.

You don’t......bung it in and hope for the best. If you have more than one item put them in separate wash bags or something similar. If not they will get felted together.... don’t ask me I how I know this!

If you are knitting a complete item and then felting it really is trial and error to stop once it's the right size. :ninja:
If you are knitting a large piece of fabric to felt and then cut and sew together just keep going - bung it back into the washing machine several times until it won't felt/shrink any further.
