I actually plan a year-long stash busting sewalong for next year. This year UFOs, next year stash....
How does that sound?

It's a long time to wait  :( . I only have 2 or 3 UFOs and they aren't a priority as I tend to bin them. There is usually a good reason why I didn't finish them!

A great list, I haven't seen it before but I wasn't here very much for a few months.

I think I'm going to have to continue stash-busting - for ever! I'm hoping to get one top into the competition today before the deadline - just to show willing.

I'm happy to do a proper stashbust competition for 2020 but seeing as I am doing my own mini stashbust and others seem interested I'd like to start a thread for an informal, non-official one for 2019?

@Francesca, I’m absolutely fine with that, best to wait until after the vote for the current contest though  :)

I had a thread up last year asking and brainstorming for suggestions for this year's contests. I based the list at the first post of this thread on the input I got, trying to have something for everyone. I am sorry that I didn't meet everybody's taste or need, this is probably never going to happen.
I hope you'll agree with finishing the current stash busting contest and voting before we do a different stash-busting something.

@Manuela
Although not an active participant I enjoy following the progress of the competitions and I have great respect for your energy and commitment in setting them up

I'm on a stash-busting/UFO completion run too, but completing a quilt takes a lot longer than running up a top which is why I haven't entered anything in this month's competition, but so far I've used 3m of 44" fabric for the backing and the same area in wadding plus about 2m of assorted scraps.

What @BrendaP says.
It took me every evening of a week to cut out the bits from 11 fat quarters and two metres of extra-wide.  0_0 The best bit for stash-busting is the backing. You just lift it out of the cupboard (or order it of course...despite the fabric buying moratorium which is in place...:[

Tbh, I think I'm a lost cause with the stash busting malarkey....

I started out with good intentions, then popped into the fabric shop yesterday, just for a natter with the girls you understand..... :devil:  Walked out with about 10 yards - 6 from the remnant bin!  :S

I. Must. Not. Buy. Any. More. Fabric.

Hoping the Poppins outfits will use some up.

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

Is there a thread for "Sewing for Little People"?  I know, it's only just the 1st of March, but here I am raring to go...
