I forgot    :S   about this thread. Is there a way we can keep a proper record of the UFO's that we have and finish ???
I've listed my UFOs on my website
http://paternoster.orpheusweb.co.uk/sewing/ufos.htm
but I've neglected to update it!  :S
So far: Aggie has a new outer skin, the camisole top has new straps, the cushion has a middle and I'm making good progress with the scrappy quilt.

TSP Star block swap ... Backing needs making, layering, quilting and binding
It's older than TSP - we did that swap from the old forum.  I finished mine soon after receiving the blocks  and this photo is date stamped 02 November 2015.

@sewmuchmore The roses quilt is lovely but I definitely bit off more than I could chew with those damned butterflies! I thought they would add something to the quilt but they just looked flat and C*** so I thought I could over embroider them ...

Linky

But, Ohhhhh the Tedium of stitching up and down up and down up and down with a variegated thread ... because as everybody knows I cant FMQ and think it is the work of the devil ... As you can see I couldnt even be bothered to add his body and antennae!!!! I even have the binding all cut and waiting!!!

However I have a cunning plan that might just might come off.

@BrendaP ... your quilts are always so beautiful ... and the Star Swap Top is complete I just need to get to it!

linky in case you fancy a review of TSF's Star Swap from way back in 2015!!!!

I made Marcy Tilton 9060 about two years ago...I don’t really wear skirts so I’ve been meaning to turn it into a dress.

Update...one UFO finished. It’s hanging funny one the stand but it’s OK on. Used the single fold binder on the BLCS. It’s more of a pinafore.

Since I'm studying for a language exam and losing weight I won't be sewing anything but UFOs or from non-garment stash for the foreseeable future.  These are the UFOs off the top of my head.

Existing UFOs: 5
Completed UFOs: 0
UFOs still to tackle: 5

UFOs:
Kochi Kimono in snake lizard print - needs band and hemming
Cutting Line Discover Something Novel pants - they are huge and need major taking in which involves removing topstitching
Quilt for niece #1 - needs binding (and has for well over 10 years)  ><
Quilt for niece #2 - partial top ... not really sure what it needs but it will take some time to complete
Lap quilt gold/purple: top complete, needs quilting and binding

I may have other quilt tops in various states but that will require a reorg of the shelves most likely

Will I do any of this?  Who knows.

Tentatively dipping a toe in here.....  Off the top of my head, one bag, and a shirtdress.

Jessie
Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

@b15erk  if they are the only UFOs you have you are very organised and doing well.

I have a finish!  DS1's quilt is on his bed!

Existing UFOs: 9
Completed UFOs: 1
UFOs still to tackle: 8

Next is Spirals.  It's almost in one piece but then, all those decisions to make - borders, backing, how to quilt, binding.  It may be some time.

That's great @Pearl ! I love doing Disappearing 9 Patch for some reason. Soothing and rather simple to piece, a little precision cutting (whack whack  :D), rearrange to your liking and sew them back together. The red & black are quite dramatic. Does the Son like it?
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

I've made a start at doing something with The UFO Collection. I bought a 20 yard roll of 90" wide low loft cotton quilt batting this week. It's rather nice stuff. It was such a good sale; 70 % off the single by the yard price by buying it prepacked this way.

So no excuse not to finish some of these tops. I'm not sure if Lightsiders know about quilts. There are two parts to a quilt and two finishes. First you make and finish the top. Then, at some point, sooner or later, you turn it into a finished quilt. See, the tops really aren't UFO's to Darksiders. And having a stack of them in a cupboard is useful, sort of an instant quilt kit. Almost like having money in the bank. Cough.

  • 1600 (Jelly Roll Race) Hallowe'en top done.
  • D9P throw Hallowe'en top done.
  • Drunkard's Path throw orange & black Hallowe'en top. Blocks almost all together.
  • DP throw Hallowe'en fabric top half done.
  • Just Can't Cut It quilt Hallowe'en top & all basted. Just need to quilt & bind.
  • Whack a Stack Star quilt top done.
  • Flip & Sew Lap quilt Christmas. Half done.

See why I bought so much batting? I have the backing for several of these and binding made as well for some. And actually, there are at least two or three more. Then the quilts in my head.....

Anyone else notice that most of the UFO lists and now finished items are quilts?  :)
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

He didn’t get back until late so I haven’t seen him since he saw it in person, but when he saw it on Facebook, he said, “It seems surreal.”  I don’t think he could believe it’s actually finished.   :D
