This one really deserves a drum roll! Started when we were all at the 'old place', and I would say at a guess, probably 5 years ago, give or take a year.
It was a free pattern for a Weekender bag, but I can't remember which one, and I altered it a lot. Made from upholstery remnants, and stiffened with some sort of adhesive Buckram(?), it wasn't the easiest sew. The lining is voile (not a good choice) which I stabilised. I used it because it looked good.
I added several pockets, some even zipped and a keykeeper.
The reason it took so long was that it was a pig to sew, and all it's been waiting for is the lining to be sewn down. I did try to machine it, but the Pfaff didn't like it, so I sat down, bit the bullet, and sewed it in
by hand.
It was tough on my hands, and I did resort to a thimble, but it's done!
Not my best work, but it may get used
, or not.
