When I saw the thread title, I though you were calling me...  0_0

I never new there was such a thing either, although my days of wearing such boots have gone.

And really interesting video, I'd love to see that machine in real life.

Such a simple idea.  I never wear boots.  Even when I was under 8 stone ...mmmmm.....sorry just drifted off into the past.....I still couldn’t get any that were really comfy.

Now that's a really useful machine.  I wonder how much the whole job cost?  Actually I had that problem around Christmas 1993.  I was ill, no idea what at the time, but my hands feet and legs swelled up and my hips were killing me they ached so much. My boots at the time were actually crap and at the time, my heel wouldn't sink into the foot because of the  swelling.  A dose of steroids and I was back to normal and went out and bought a new pair of fur lined boots from Jones the Bootmakers.  I think at the time they cost just short of £150.  Still got them, hardly used them after because of mild winters although the leather is shedding colour.

A machine like that it could have repaired the very expensive (I was working then) bag I bought from Pro Idee.  Everywhere I went they said they hadn't got the machine and I needed a saddler.

It looks like a Singer 29k :vintage: called a boot patcher; exactly what it was doing in the video.
Brenda.  My machines are: Corona, a 1953 Singer 201K-3, Caroline, a 1940 Singer 201K-3, Thirza, 1949 Singer 221K, Azilia, 1957 Singer 201K-MK2 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.

Interesting. I had big calves in my thin youth as well and had a terrible time buying boots. Loved it when they came out with the lower ankle boots and booties.

@BrendaP thank you for the machine info. I have wanted one for years and had no idea who made them or what they were called. I've had a long held fantasy of getting one and being my own cordwainer.
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.

I had black wet-look pull on knee length boots in the 70's which were really comfortable on my calves as they  fit like socks....

Amazing machine.

I realised there must be a special type of machine which did this sort of thing for footwear, but I've never bothered to look for a video online.
And didn't it make a lovely sound when stitching?  :)

Just looked at their Facebook page. Fascinating, and they have a good sense of humour.     https://www.facebook.com/bbnewmarket/videos/490588964359862/
