A sewing friend who was once on Stitcher's Guild told me where Manuela from Hong Kong had moved and then sent me a link to The Sewing Place.  One look (more than a few SG members or former members here) and I decided to join.

I live in the southwest United States; Tucson, Arizona to be exact.  I've been sewing since I was 12 (past 60 now) but did not take sewing seriously until about ten years ago.  I put myself into the Intermediate category for some things and into Advanced for others.  I prefer to sew cotton and linen; don't sew much with knits; and definitely don't do formal or bridal or anything slinky or silky.

The other hobby is building houses (the other half and I have built 10) and collecting an assortment of power tools but my most favorite power tool is a sewing machine.

Hello and Welcome - understanding why you sew with cotton and linen given your climate.
Hope you feel at home with all of us.

Oooh, a collection of power tools, I'm building my collection up again after having to get rid of lots when I lived in a motorhome a few years ago.  One thing I'd love but don't have room for (and probably wouldn't actually use much these days) is a table saw.

Welcome to The Sewing Place.

How about this for power tools.  The best one comes at 1min 02 secs.

Theresa Honey! It is so good to "see" you. Missed the house exploits and the sewing too. Our sewing style is rather similar. I'm sure you will love it here.

@BrendaP that is an awesome video! And the needle plate wasn't even changed!!!  :S
Hey Bill! Read the manual!  Hehehe.
