New Vogue Patterns - Spring 2019
« on: January 28, 2019, 14:35:12 PM »
The new spring Vogue patterns are out on the US website now here

I'm not finding a huge amount to really love. There's only one Marcy Tilton V9358 and while I like the dress it is very like a dress pattern I already have from Style Arc.

The Julio Cesar jacket pattern V9368 looks really like one of his patterns from a previous release - same big sleeves.

I quite like this Sandra Betzina jacket V1621 but not this SB dress V1612 Way too many frilies!

Naturally if I were half my age (and half my dress size!!) I'd swan off to Waitrose in this: Vogue 1616

It should be quite a few weeks before we see these in the UK shops or websites.

Nothing for  me...the Marcy Tilton is a bit of a disappointment.

My boat is not floated.
Life's too short for ironing.

I saw these on Pattern Review (I think) earlier in the week and thought they were pretty boring.  I don't think I will be troubling Vogue with my hard earned pennies.

And they are lots of pennies too @Nevis5 ! I bought a pattern (Butterick 6497) from a charity shop at the weekend for £1. The ladies who served me oohed and aahed over the price (high for this particular shop!) but they were really shocked when I told them you can pay up to £16 for a full-price Vogue pattern nowadays - not that any of us would unless we were were desperate to get our mitts on something. I agree that this Vogue release is a bit disappointing- normally Vogue is my favourite but this lot isn't wildly exciting.

Very unexciting, although I did wonder about that V9358 for my Mother-of-the-Groom outfit - but probably not.

Nothing for me either.  The new website has stopped doing the figure recommendations on Vogue too.  I just don't enjoy looking at the new site at all.

Like the fancy evening dresses, but don't have a Waitrose near me.
When I was little my mother told me it was important to get a wardrobe with enough height to hang a ballgown, I always
have - but I've never owned a ballgown.
I've given up with Vogue and the Big 4 (or is it 1) nowadays  :(, using PDFs from Sew Over It and Closet Case etc.
What happened, loved Vogue when their patterns came with 9 pages of very detailed instructions.

UNderwhelmed- but I always prefer the autumn winter styles anyway.  I looked at the Platt one, but it's most uninspiring.  Also the Brenne...some designers are a bit erratic in their turn out....
Nothing exciting with the Tilton, I like it, but have similar already.

V9358 could be very nice in the right fabric  @Bodgeitandscarper . The fabric on the websites photos doesn't really do it justice.

I quite like Vogue 1614 for special occasions, it’s riht up my alley... Given the climate I live in, I’d probably skip the sleeve.
That said, if I’d make it in denim and use denim lace for the overlay, it would be very wearable indeed..... hmm.

Everything else is a tad disappointing though.
