I used to get Quilters Newletter Magazine, from US, and I had Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting as an e-subscription for a bit. The US magazines are more varied than here and have plenty of patterns, but they are hard to find and pricy (hence the usefulness of e-mags). Sometimes you see them in WH Smith. I currently get Today's Quilter, but I don't know if I will continue the subscription. They have some good freebies, but their patterns seem to rely on precuts and they don't give any alternative colourway suggestions or tell you the size of the block. You have to work it out from the instructions, so it's not simple to look at a design and know how to change the block size if you don't want to make the version they give. And some of it is a bit twee for my taste - but that's just personal bias!
