For sale Bernina 830
« on: July 15, 2019, 22:50:08 PM »
I have 2 lovely Bernina 830s both from the 1970s. They sew beautifully and purr when in use.
I am going to sell one of them, I don't need 2 and I don't have space either.
I need to sort out an advertisement for them and work out the feet that I am selling with it. It has recently been cleaned and oiled.
Whilst I'm doing this, I thought I'd check here whether anyone is interested in making me an offer for my machine?
I am in Manchester, you are welcome to come to view the machine. If getting to Manchester is difficult I may be able to meet halfway or deliver if not too far.

Oh I can vouch for smoothness  running wise of the Bernina 830 Record, apparently this was the Bernina that the manufacturers got completely right and thus they can command an excellent price.  So anyone buying this machine would be very lucky indeed.  Good luck with selling this Happy Mrs.G, hope you find a happy buyer.

Imi it isn't me that wants to sell the Bernina it is Happy Mrs.G.

I just threw my  support in regarding what a super machine it is - go on go for it, you won't regret this.  By the way my 830 Record dates back to 1975 and was my other's machine.  I use this as my main machine as although my mother used this machine it was nowhere near as much as I have, and thus I keep my other machines for more specialised work that they do.

@Iminei , I think you will find the Bernina 830, too heavy for taking to classes - unless you like a workout!  It is a very 'sturdy' machine!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

Hi

Yes I am looking for a machine that has a solid straight stitch and zig zag stitch.  Do you have a pic of the machine and a model please so I have see if it will suit me.  I'm Fylde Coast so not too far away.

@Iminei this machine is too heavy to be taken out, if thats what you want it for.

@Lemonie yes I can take photos, but not till Weds evening or Thursday, if that's ok. It is a Bernina 830 & does a great straight stitch & a number of decorative stiches, including zigzag. I'm looking for £250. I have the case & a number of feet, but not the table.
