Newbie here
« on: February 25, 2019, 22:48:04 PM »
Hi from Guildford. I’m Kim. I’m still rather new to sewing. I made a dress for my daughter when she was 4, that was 10 years ago. Life got busy and sewing was put on the back burner. 10 years later I’m now getting back into it. I just bought a Janome and I can’t wait to finish my latest project, a lovely dress for this summer. I’d like to try my hand at quilting too. I’m looking forward to exchanging ideas and getting some good advice   :loveit: :sew:

Welcome from me too.  I hope you've gathered from looking around that you can ask for any advice you need, however basic.  We're all happy to help if we can.  You'll quite likely end up doing stuff you never knew you wanted to do.

Life's too short for ironing.

Also we are very good at persuading you that you need things you never knew existed and telling you where you can buy all manner of wonderful things.

Welcome from me.

Hi and welcome from me too, Kim.

Quilting and dressmaking? You're going to find yourself very popular and busy here with all the encouragement you'll be getting. Does your daughter dance by any chance?  ;)
Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.

Hi Kim! A big welcome from me too!

Grab a  :drink:, and a slice of  :cake:, and jump right in!

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

Thank you for the warm welcome  :D

I ended up buying a Janice 4300 qdc. I absolutely love it!  :loveit:

I’ve also signed up for a sewing class. I’ve now made a dress and I’ve almost finished a shirt. I’m also beginning a sundress for my daughter. I’m hoping to make a second one for my other daughter later this summer. I’m off and  :sew: :sew: :sew:  :loveit:
