Welcome,
@FloBear
! How lovely that you're another Ploshie! Hope you enjoy being with us (and don't worry, some of us are extremely unlikely to be dragged into TDS
) x

Gosh, I feel I've had a lovely welcome, thank you all.
Mind you, sneaking in on Ploshkin's coat-tails is a bit underhand, isn't it? I see she is a
right old chatterbox

Oh
@Lowena
I’m afraid not.
. My work colleagues have tried for years to get me into quilting especially when grandchildren started arriving. Three grandsons later I still haven’t made a quilt!
I’m a fanatical dressmaker and there’s just no room for quilting. None of my family would thank me for one. And I can’t abide all the wall hangings (dust gatherers) that people also make. But I can appreciate the work involved.

Welcome FloBear. So now we have two sisters and a mother and daughter. Are there any more families on here?

@Ohsewsimple
I completely understand. I'm not clever enough to make clothes and love P&Q but..... no one I know wants my quilts and I hate wall hangings so I know how you feel. They just pile up until I get round to
dumping
giving them to the charity bin in Sainsbos

@Lowena
that’s a shame. I guess there’s only so many quilts you personally need. Unlike clothes which wear out over time. Hey, you’ll have to take up dressmaking

Hello and welcome from me too - another non-quilter!
Actually, I did some back in the 70s and might do again in my 70s but in the meantime the dark brigade are so wonderfully easy to wind up with just a bit of quilt-free independence.

Hopefully back more regularly! Ballroom sewing may be permanently paused but bag making is the current focus.

LOL
@Marniesews
!
@Lowena
, you'll be lucky. I have tried P&Q a few times, even got as far as making an Advent calendar and a wall hanging (both hand sewn) but I just got fed up with it. Even though my machine is labelled a 'quilting edition' and came with some fancy schmancy hardware (untouched) I've not been tempted. Sorry
Now, whipping up a quick top or a skirt, that's another matter. I love clothes and love making them
