Has anybody used this to make a top?  Can you see through it?
Any information would be appreciated.

I have some, although I haven't made it up into anything yet.  It's like two layers of fairly fine cheesecloth, and I don't think it's at all see-through (although it is upstairs and I am downstairs on the settee, and it is Friday evening, so I won't be able to tell you absolutely, definitely for a while).
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

I’ve made some palazzo pants out of it and it sewed beautifully. When you press it, it flattens the fabric if it’s textured, but hold the steam over it and it crinkles again. I washed mine first, as memory told me cheesecloth shrinks. Lovely to wear.

It’s a gorgeous fabric (particularly Nani Iro designs) and it’s wonderful to wear. There is not really a need to line it, I did line the last two dresses I made - due to the ‘bubble effect’ I created though.

I used it for a a romper for my grandson and it was beautiful and soft.  Not cheap but worth it.

Higgs and Higgs have some lovely double gauze. https://www.higgsandhiggs.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=double+gauze

I saw it last week at the NEC and will probably buy some for a top.

@Francesca are you making a dress? If so, Id recommend lining it, either with Bemberg or with silk. While double gauze is usually opaque, against the sun it can still be a bit see through. If it’s hot and you sweat, it also tends to ‘stick’ onto your legs - I’m speaking from experience here.....
