I think we need a member in the Scillies in order to claim the true southern-most spot (or possibly even the Channel Islands). :) (Recruitment drive coming up?)

I wonder do our Antipodean pals get fed up when they see Earth from space and it's always "the right way up"!  :ninja:  0_0

About 10 years ago I had to design a logo for an organisation using an image of the world.   There were plenty of fantastic images of the world from space that were free to use, but I had the most incredible difficulty finding one that showed the UK in a relatively central position (not terribly surprising since the images were released by NASA...)

I imagine that if I had been doing it for an Australian organisation I might still be looking.

I think we need a member in the Scillies in order to claim the true southern-most spot (or possibly even the Channel Islands). :) (Recruitment drive coming up?)
OK, can we have a volunteer to go to the Channel Islands and the Scillies and try to drum up interest?   :)
I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

The Channel Islands are crown dependencies, rather than being part of the UK.

Yes, but their inhabitants are British citizens...

... however, using that as the criterion would mean recalibrating our southern and western extremities, as the Falkland Islanders are also British citizens.  Mind you, it wouldn't change anything unless we actually have any members from the Falklands.

I'll join you as it's one little part of the world that I've not been to and always wanted to explore. Didn't the programme 'Island Parish' come from there at one point?
