Recommendation for a lightweight economical backup machine

annieeg

Anyone got any suggestions for a lightweight, good stitch quality sewing machine as a portable for classes etc.
I'm thinking more of best value, rather than an expensive machine.

I have recently bought a 1970s Elna Lotus sp, it is really light (11lb, 6kg) and sews brilliantly.  In fact it seews vinyl straps better than my Juki DX7.  I have found that low shank feet from other machines fit it.  £50 well spent.

. . .  Elna Lotus sp . . .   £50 well spent.
That was a real bargain - going rate for good condition (machine & case) with original accessories in the top tray is £120+

I've seen a Lotus TSP on ebay for £69.95 but most of the accessories are missing (i.e., no additional feet included).
I'm wondering if its a sensible buy?

@annieeg - are you buying all these machines? If so you must have a seriously impressive sewing room!

@Greybird    No - I don't buy all the machines I mention, I'm addicted to ebay surfing and I come across unfamiliar machine and want to find out about them (a/k/a "research").  I have just 6 machines:

1.  Elna Overlocker 744 (slightly faulty) setup and used regularly.
2.  Bernina Cover stitcher setup and used regularly.
3.  Janome Atelier set up and used regularly.
4.  Singer Featherweight 222 (Vintage, Stored)
5.  Bernina Record 930.  The Bernina is not-portable and is currently packed away.
6.  Singer Handcrank 99K (Vintage, Stored)

I did have a smaller lightweight machine which I gave, along with a John Lewis (Janome), to the "Tools with a Mission" charity.
I regret, now, giving away the smaller lightweight machine as I miss having a machine downstairs which is why I'm giving myself an excuse to look for a replacement portable machine.

Still quite impressive! I can only lay claim to one sewing machine, one overlocker and one vintage which is in the garage until I get round to it.
