Ok, I've actually discarded a load at the farthest right of screen as they were too dark (I felt)

So we are now starting with the mottled wavy blue grey 5 from right (John Louden, one of my favourite blenders)

The yellow ??? ... confused the hell out of me, but I see what you mean, is actually a green but I see your point completely.

Im off out now ... Did we get a decision on all one fabric for the lights  or lots ??A

W I give up Im no good at this malarkey!

All pics in the album

Plans are forming and a design (of sorts) has been sketched.

In Jaz's quilt there were 64 HST's in the main body of the quilt, then there were the HSTs that formed the squares at the bottom and triangles on the sides . I think Ive totalled them up to 124 HST's in all

IN this quilt being 80 x 80 and more HST heavy I have worked out there will be 64 HST's in each quarter of the bottom half of the quilt with 73 in each quarter of the top half as I want to include the HST Hearts (4" finished)

Mad moi??? just possibly but I have the time, I'm just worried about the money!   :o :S

I think you've miscounted in Jazmin's quilt.  I can see 140 pairs of HSTs in total.  80 pairs in the middle section and another 60 pairs around the edge

Amidst a thousand HST's

Here I am busy, busy, busy with the wedding quilt. I have been at it all day sewing HST after HST and after totting up I reckon I made over 100 today!!!!

The Pressed ones were made yesterday, todays are the ones all over the table ... I think I have around 200 now so getting there!

I have been separating the chain pieced blocks with a cunning lil gadget I (and Sakar) got for Christmas from one of her friend ...

Basically Theri (Sakars friend) and her boyfriend 3D printed this plastic geegaw, added a rotary cutter blade and have come up with this super smart thingymy to slice through the threads between each block ... Excellent stuff!

So tomorrow I will be trimming countless HSTs to 5 1/2" sq ...

I always chain piece but only about 6 at a time. I then stop, press and trim each batch as I go along. Variety is the spice of life  :D
Did you decide on all the same light, or different?

Now I wonder whether anyone here is interested in the scraps ??? Odd question I know but isnt there a thing like a confetti quilt that you can use these things for ???

Ask Mr Google about string quilts or string piecing.

Done!

I have 111 Star background HST's

and 111 Floral Background HST's

all trimmed down to 5 1/2" !

So thats 222 HST's present and correct but I think I need a minimum of 224 x 5 1/2" HST's for the quilt (But please feel free to check my maths) Plus 50 x 4" all colour HST's  for the insert hearts.

So back to making more HST's  -<
