Hello there, I must be bonkers :S but I have only recently started sewing in order to learn how to make gymnastics competition leotards for my daughter. I knew it would be a steep learning curve, but I enjoy a challenging!
I'm looking forward to reading about your experiences and hoping to gain some wisdom and perhaps a bit of encouragement when I'm wondering if I'll ever get those sleeves to go on properly  :D

Welcome to TSP.

I've never made a leotard but I do know that set in sleeves in stretchy fabric are generally easier to do than sleeves in a firm woven fabric.  You just stretch the bit that doesn't need easing!  Personally I don't baste, I just use lots of pins at right angles to the stitching line.
Brenda.  My machines are: Corona, a 1953 Singer 201K-3, Caroline, a 1940 Singer 201K-3, Thirza, 1949 Singer 221K, Azilia, 1957 Singer 201K-MK2 and Vera, a Husqvarna 350 SewEasy about 20 years old. Also Bernina 1150 overlocker and Elna 444 Coverstitcher.

Hi there Anna!  A big welcome from me too!

I'm sort of dipping a toe into the gymnastics attire since my GD started classes.

We can learn together!  ;)

Jessie, who is very happy to be here!!  :),  but who has far too many sewing machines to be healthy, and a fabric stash which is becoming embarrassing.

Welcome - there will be lots of help hereabouts but sadly I know nothing about active wear!  If you want to do it you will do it.
