It could be complete bake but I feel I should investigate, in the interests of other members you understand.

Now York's not too far from me, I must try to go and investigate when I can get back to sewing properly.

Well this morning I finally got to Junk & Jewels and it was interesting.

It’s a junk shop, surprise surprise but there was about 20’ of racking full of fabric.

It is mostly curtaining, some very nice, some not so good.  I found some very nice velvets. There was some Prestigious Textiles etc. There was several rolls of what I would call leatherette but I’m sure has a much posher name these days.

I bought two different linens, a denim blue one that has some man made fibre in and an orange/red one that burns and feels like pure linen.

All the stuff on rolls is £4 a metre and there are remnants for £1.

There is not a huge amount on most of the rolls so no good for anyone wanting to cover big windows but worth it for smaller amounts.

I had a chat with the owner and she says she gets new  stock all the time.

I went here today on my own fact finding mission and I was pleasantly surprised, in fact I felt overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of all of the fabric. Like @Ellabella says it is mainly upholstery weight fabric, the majority of it in very good condition and some nice modern prints, with a decent amount on some of the rolls.

I bought some pink chambray, some lemony coloured linen mix and lemon/cream stripe linen mix.

Everything £4 per metre with some offcuts for £1. Also spotted a basket with bags of buttons for erm £1 or £2, can't remember  :P

There's also some decent nicknacks and furniture, well worth a look round  :loveit:
