Overlocker Auto-threader - ?good investment?
« on: May 06, 2019, 21:56:57 PM »
I've lost the plot with trying to thread my overlocker.  I've had it for several years and now and again its temperamental and I have to rethread it.
It played up this evening and I can't remember how to thread the lower looper!
45 minutes later and I'm still struggling.
I'm seriously thinking of upgrading to an auto-threader and wondered which might be the best to buy.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

What machine have you got @annieeg ?   Have you looked on YouTube for a video showing the threading.?   Make sure the needles are threaded last.

I’ve just bought a Babylock Imagine and it’s wonderful.

Air threading and a built in needle threader are so good and the stitch quality so far seems excellent. I don’t even need to thread in a specific order.

It was expensive even though it’s the cheapest Babylock O/L. I figure that it’s probably the last O/L I will buy so decided to push the boat out and I’m so glad I did.

@Ohsewsimple
I did find an Elna 774 demonstration threading guide on YT a while ago and thought I'd saved it to my favourites, but now I can't find it.... :'(
