I bought this when it first came out so I must have had it probably at least 2 years, possibly more.  Each time I got it out I stuffed away, because of the neckline, that type don't really suit me.  On Monday I gave in a started sewing some lovely fine drapey jersey I had which had made a super straight forward one with round neck, which suits me.

Well I've got to putting the sleeves in stage and  decided to try on.  Fits fine but even this stage I know I am not going to really love it because of the neck.  I'm just hoping the sleeves will detract (last top like this was a Vogue  with no sleeves and that went straight to the charity bag).

Why on earth don't you listen to your inner ear instead of ploughing on in hope it will be alright. :S

What is it about the neckline you don't like?

I made that once in non drapy cotton jersey - terrible idea, the neck didn't work at all. Worn once then consigned to scrap bin. I have other cowl necks that work well. Maybe in the right fabric but once bitten...

What I don't like about it @NatalieSews , the cowl neck. I might have done 40 years ago but now I feel I am drawing attention to my neck, which given my advanced years is not that bad really.  I think also I am not a V neck lover and that sort of hangs in a V.

Hopefully when the sleeves are on it will look better.  There was another view that had a boat neck and that would have been better but to be honest when I looked at it, all I saw was the brown fabric on the picture, which I didn't like

@Gernella

Ahhh I see, you don't wanna draw attention to something you don't like.

Will you show pics once you've finished?

I have to agree with you, those floppy cowl necklines never look quite right
