I’m not done  :D :D

I had promised my BFF well over a year ago that I would make her a bunny. I had made one before and she told me she had to have one. That one is almost done and hopefully I will remember to post a pic.

Lastly, I made another polar bear. This bear is half the size of the first one I made maybe 2 years ago? I am sorry but I do not have a finished pic of it as it was shipped off to another good sewing friend. These bears I will not make for little kids. There is too much handwork (and I am not a fan of handwork lol) and these will only go to special people

This is the layout

Finished before stuffing. I just love how they turn out

They are all adorable (though your empty bear is a little freaky!) What a shame the fabric for the puppy gave you such a headache!

@kowgiirl.up your critters are gorgeous which patterns do you use?

I will try to post them and please tell me if these links do not work

The bear (my favorite) is here https://www.etsy.com/listing/1235376374/sherbet-polar-bear-pdf-sewing-pattern-30?ref=yr_purchases.

The bear pattern is a very, very good pattern with great instructions. There is lots of ease in this pattern and more than what is noted in my experience (yours may not).

Sam the Dino: https://www.etsy.com/listing/189571223/sam-the-dinosaur-pdf-sewing-pattern-with?ref=yr_purchases.good pattern and came out cute.

The next two were tricky for me. These are smaller critters and the legs were very fiddly (know that I do not have tons of patience so you may very well find these easy)

Donkey https://www.etsy.com/listing/457896146/stuffed-animal-donkey-burro-pdf-sewing?ref=yr_purchases

Puppy https://www.etsy.com/listing/472156544/stuffed-animal-standing-puppy-dog-pdf?ref=yr_purchases

These were easy
Elephant https://www.etsy.com/listing/1476174162/simple-pattern-18-memory-elephant?ref=yr_purchases

The bunny https://www.etsy.com/listing/995489544/snuggle-bunny-pdf-sewing-pattern?ref=yr_purchases

As we all know, fabric plays a lot into how hard or how easy a pattern is(along with good instructions). I made good choices and made awful choices..

I will help the best I can so let me know :-)

It’s a super cute pattern that was pretty easy to follow. The instructions have you glue the spots in place before machine sewing. I couldn’t force myself to machine stitch after glueing. I didn’t want the bits of glue getting in my machine so I hand stitched instead and it worked out fine

I just wanted to comment about both the polar bear and the bunny patterns. The instructions call for a stitch length of 24 stitches per inch which is a whole bunch or you can double stitch the seams. I always, always double stitch since I do not want them falling apart at the seams.

My question, what stitch length do some of you use on your stuffed critters?

I followed your advice and double stitched!

@CCL  The GGS opened his gift yesterday. We will see how well that double stitching holds up on his puppy. I am not too confident even with the fusible interfacing backing. His dad (my GS) was super impressed that I made it so that made me feel really good and I suppose it was worth all the sailor words.

The GGS will be 3 years old in tomorrow and will open his bday present of "Sam the Dinosaur". That one should hold up well other than that loooong neck might get bent out of shape

The Stuffed Toy sewing shop is now closed until sometime next year.  :faints:
