Triangle Jitters by "Suzy Quilts"

DD number 2 and family have moved into a new house complete with new furniture : as you do these days when you're young, beautiful, happy and career successful.....(cripes :S did she really spring from my loins????) and I gaily offered to "do" a quilt for the couch in the "good room"......all sparse and white and grey and black and minimalistic.  I wanted to do a crisp, clean geometric pattern with muted colours and came across this pattern fairly quickly.

I'm thinking I'll do channel quilting...vertical, about 5/8" apart. I chose grey and white as the main colours and then added a splash of aqua to give a bit of pop. The Aqua actually matches almost identically to the aqua colour in a painting she has on the wall....she thought I was very clever and arty.....I didn't have the nerve to fess up that it was entirely by accident and fate that I had a bit of "aqua tat" stuffed in my remnants box that very nearly got turfed out the other day and happened to be languishing on the floor by the rubbish bin when I spied it!

Blimey Rubes, I  thought you hated HSTs ... yet here we are again!

Parallel lines are effective modern quilting but take FOREVER ... I think I spent about 10 hours on this lil beauty... (Yes Lowena, Im THAT slow!)

I added a link rather than a pic so you choose one and can zooooooom in and see every one of the minutes I spent on it!

Lovely!  Very modern.  Is that a harp in the background?

Yes pearl, I have 2. I don't play very often these days but ocassionally have a bit of a pluck. I just spent $300 on a complete set of new strings for the larger one as a string broke the other day and being such an old instrument it was hard to find a replacement string so when I finally found a harp maker who could get me one I decided to just order a whole set to cover me for the next hundred years!! Hmmm, fabric purchases are subsequently curtailed for the time being!! LOL

Wow, that's a departure from your usual style.
Life's too short for ironing.

I know Ploshkin...very brave of me but I'm quite taken with the clean-ness and construction speed of this style and may play around with it a bit more. In between fpp of course! 0_0

Well, after 7 hours of straight line quilting, 7 bobbin refills, and several episodes of losing the will to live I have finished this quilt...well almost....I just have to square it up and then bind it but that is going to wait until tomorrow..tonight I have a serious appointment with a bottle of congratulatory red!

It's really so effective - but I don't think I could've done it - it would've driven me mad. Great work though. :)
