Has anyone used Kam Snaps? They've probably got other names too, they're the plastic press stud type thingies used a lot on babygrows and the like.

Can anyone recommend a good supplier/brand?

Yes I’ve used them.  Got them from here

Be aware that there are fakes out there and fake tools too.  Haven’t had a problem with these.  Once they’re on they’re on.

I bought some on eBay- listed as but possibly (probably) not KAM though they look the same. I got the hand plier tool which looks identical to this and even with my rubbish grip I can squeeze too hard & the snaps don't then work. I suspect the bench tool has a pressure limiter to avoid this problem but wasn't going to pay £88 for that for limited use. So if you get the pliers be aware & don't squeeze too hard.

I use them, not sure they are the real Kam Snaps though.  I also bought a remover tool thingy - expensive but very useful, in fact essential, for when it goes wrong!!

@Bodgeitandscarper where did you get a remover tool? My remover tool is DH with pliers, cutters & strong hands.

I just bought a pliers and snaps last month and have only used them once. I was pleased with the results. I wasn't real keen on using the pliers as I always found the pliers for the metal snaps to be awkward, but I had no trouble with these ones. I just bought off of Amazon, and they are probably not official Kam snaps. My pliers are a pretty flower print instead of plain metal.

I bought this great little snap set a while back and they will see me out. To remove the snap you squeeze it sideways on with your pliers and it just breaks off - found that on YouTube.  :)

Mine are unavailable now but there are loads similar on Ebay and Amazon.

Ah yes, I remember - instructions on YouTube too.

I am fascinated with Kam Snaps but what can they be used for, other than baby clothes?

I buy sew on tiny (maybe 4mm across) soft plastic snaps, that I use to close inbetween gaps in RTW shirts. There is no way I would have even these to sit down upon!
They are very cheap, come on a snap of tree,  and I think in Fabricland.

Yes I use them, although like some others think they might not be the 'real' thing! I use them for kids clothes and dancewear fastenings. I like them although the ones I have are no good on more than a couple of layers of lycra.

I love Kam snaps. I bought a big assortment ( a bunch of different colors) from Amazon last year.  I use them on tote bags, storage sacs and the little bow ties I make for my stuffed animals.
