First experience of Abakhan

I've just received my first order from Abakhan - some poplin and  polycotton - and was pleased to find they had both been cut very generously. Was I lucky or is this usual for Abakhan?
(It's helpful to know what to expect when you are trying to decide if you can get away with buying a bit less than is specified on the pattern.)
