I might look as though I'm talking to you, but inside my head I'm sewing.

If you think that’s expensive don’t look at the TOL machines of any make.   Over £10,000 for Brother, £9,000 for Husqvarna and £8,000 for Pfaff.   Eye watering prices but they sell!

This is my purchase from Franklins!

linky

Yes!! its a gadget @Deafoldbat @Lowena  ... I have suffered from Psoriatic Arthritis through my life consequently, on a good day, I have little or no strength in my hands ... and I find the worst bit of playing with Elvis is the hooping!

I really struggle to tighten the screw. I have recently being using a screw driver but it inevitably slips out of the notch and cuts me and will, if I continue to use it, no doubt chew up the screw ....

I mentioned this to the chap who was taking me through ElvisToos features and he whipped out one of these!
There's a screwdriver in there, the blue bit is a non slip easy grip sleeve, and the white bit fits around the screw, so no slipping out of the notch and tearing my hand open !

Deep Joy! Bliss! Heaven! Easy Peasy, Squeeze the lemons, Chill! ...

Now I know its a simple bimple idea but I do not begrudge them my tenner if it makes hooping less of a nightmare.

Oh that looks like a very useful gadget.  I have problems with my hands too but luckily my hoops have a lever to tighten so no screwing up.  Don’t over tighten it or you will ruin the thread.

Oooh, love that border hoop - but £190, eeek!  :o :o :o

Not sure I'd use it really anyway, no, I wouldn't, of course I wouldn't.  Would I?

And that screwdriver looks a really nifty little gadget, that I could afford, I find screwing hard work sometimes - screwing the hoops tight, that is  0_0 :P

I have one of those for my Hus Diamond somewhere in my large box of stuff.  Not used it yet.
I think I have a hoop for every size and type I might need.  Reason being when we closed the shop and I retired earlier this year I 'acquired ' my boss' Diamond.  It was too big for the canal boat they now live on.  And of course she had every hoop, gadget and feet you could probably think of.  Along with dozens of bobbins.  I just need a very large drawer to keep it all in.   :)
