Bluetooth is worth a try. I sometimes resort to that  :\

Thank you Lilian, don't think it has Bluetooth, but OH had a look and data connection was turned off, very strange because I hadn't touched it.  Still, OK now!

Not sure about the data connection or the Bluetooth aspects of this,

But they’re nice buttonholers and should fit any singer slant shank machine!

When I researched it I read that one of the plates was different  for each machine.   It has a plate which fits onto the machine apart from the buttonholer itself.
This is a slant shank model .

The feedplate is nice from a collectors POV, but isn’t necessary to use it as it’s to cover the dogs, but most slant shanks were modern enough that you could drop the dogs.

Dropping the dogs improves the clearance, reduce the risk of damage to the paint work and makes it quicker to use. So I tend not to use a feedplate when I use a buttonholer.

Thanks @Roger .  So it can be used on any slant shank if the feed dogs can be dropped. That's helpful.
